Join Life Med!
Our ambulance responds to around 200 requests for service each year and many patients have insurance that only covers an average of 50-80% of the total fee, or worse yet, have no insurance at all. Life-Med membership through East Umatilla County Health District covers immediate family members in your household and costs only $49 per year. If you or someone on your Life-Med membership requires ambulance transport, we will bill your insurance. Whatever is paid by the insurance is accepted as payment in full, leaving no large balances, deductibles or co-pays to worry about. Ambulance service is expensive to provide and maintain. Life-Med membership makes sense when you consider the average ambulance transport costs $1100 per use. Added benefits of Life-Med membership include reciprocal coverage throughout most of Umatilla County and much of Oregon, and your $49 membership stays here in the community to provide rapid response and the best equipment and care available.

In this free program, our ambulance crews will come and do an in-home assessment of potential fall hazards and give you suggestions to make you and your home safer. Stop by or call the ambulance office at 541-566-3813 to get more information about Life-Med or make an appointment for the Fall Prevention Program in-home check.
